About Basin Ski Shop

The Basin Ski Shop is the oldest business in the Killington Region. We actually began serving our customers 10 days before Killington Resort opened on December 14, 1958.

Throughout our history the Basin has always set a standard for quality and expert service.

In 1991 the Basin took new ownership, with the new ownership the Basin renewed its expert service and commitment to provide skiers with the best ski products available. The family owned Basin and it’s dedicated staff have joined to revolutionize the Ski Shop experience, we are all dedicated to give the best service and advice as to provide a superior ski experience. The Basin is considered one of the best shops in the nation (if not the best) we have been awarded a gold medal by Ski Magazine for the past 9 years. We were also voted (2 times) the best ski shop in New England. We are proud of our history and hope to continue our legacy.

Our objective has always been to carry the best products available, to provide unmatched service in all of our departments as to make for an enjoyable shopping experience. The construction of our new building has given us the room to grow, we now feature Evolution one of the largest free ride shops in the country. Along with the construction of the new building we now feature Out of Bounds Snowboards, an alpine race room and True Wheels, our summer cycling shop all under one roof. We bring all these shops together to give the customer endless options when it comes to skis, snowboards,outerwear, and casual wear.

The Basin was built on service starting with our bootfitting. Ray Garrett, manager of the boot department, has been with the Basin since 1987. With several pedorthists on staff our bootfitting team has unmatched expertise and is recognized nationwide. We have knowledgeable and passionate ski sales personnel as well as a friendly,qualified rental and demo department. Our precision tuning shop has the most advanced machines run by professional and experienced tuning staff.

Christine (President) and the Basin ladies are setting the direction of the market by recruiting some of the most passionate skiers and riders. All women’s product both technical and fashionable are tested and purchased with women in mind. In our clothing department Deb, Bettina and Christine carefully select our product to serve the diverse needs of our customers. We chose products from the finest companies for their technical assets, fashion, function and quality.

Just to make sure we at the Basin are doing our job, we ski everyday and constantly test new gear and report conditions for our website (don’t you feel sorry for me?).
