| Description: | |
| Nidecker Megalight SC Despite its aggressive air, the Megalight is not just a race board. It is adapted to all riding styles, and excels in all snow conditions. Its construction combines high-tech materials with traditional craftsmanship and goes from groomers, to ice, to powder without a single care. This board was designed to perform, with virtually all of our available technologies incorporated into a single weapon.. Available with CamRock, for those who want to add more fun to their edge-to-edge transitions and powder riding! Freeride CamRock ® The CamRock Freeride will give you everything you need for your backcountry line. There is more rocker in the nose to add float and improved maneuverability, matched with a smaller amount of camber under foot to keep your snowboard responsive. A small amount of rocker in the tail will give you stability and maneuverability. Ultimate Grip Ultimate Grip (UG) will allow you to ride hard, artificial, and/or icy snow as you have never done before. The serrated edges maximize the edge contact area with the snow and mean that your grip increases by 200% over a regular board in the same turn. How does it work? The best comparison is to a normal knife and a serrated knife. The serrated knife cuts far easier and requires less force than the normal knife. Not only that, but if you want them at maximum efficiency, you need to sharpen the normal knife far more often than the serrated knife. SC/Swiss Core Swiss Core is a new technology from Nidecker that will change the way snowboarders not only ride, but how they look at their snowboards. Requiring an extraordinarily high level of precision in the manufacturing process, we consider this new technology similar to the Swiss Movement found in many of today’s finest Swiss watches. What it simply means is that we took a complex matrix of fibers and engineered them in such a way that the board reacts differently when flexed in different directions, thus improving performance no matter what your style of riding. When the board is flexed down, the matrix forces the edges to rise, thus making it easier for the board to slide on rails or boxes without catching an edge. When the board is flexed up, such as when making turns, the matrix forces the edges to press down, which allows for superior hold during those turns. What this boils down to is a full on, high-stoke revolution that is going to improve your overall ride, no matter what your style of riding. | |

Comments: After Palmer stopped distributing in the US, I spent a long time looking for a replacement for my old Palmer Honeycomb. After riding almost every highend deck out there, I was able to take a test ride on a Megalight. This thing blew me away! Not only does it have amazing edgehold here on East Coast ice, but the nose shape and torsional flex makes this thing rock in deep Pow. I would recommend the CamRock version for any intermediate and up looking to up their game on a true do it all deck.
